Swe Chin Mae Home is a boarding school that contains about 40 children and juveniles, located in the township of Yangon Hlaingtharya of Myanmar. The place where children stay should be a safe and clean environment. However, the Swe Chin Mae home’s facilities being old, rainwater leaks into the building during the rainy season, and the children have to deal with the hot and humid weather. To help these children, Global Hope Myanmar rose to action.
Beginning last June, Global Hope started a project to provide safe and adequate housing for the children. Working together with an NGO in Malaysia, Global HOPE was able to purchasethe needed construction materials.

Global Hope repaired the old facility of the girl’s dormitory. We added plywood to the roof to help avoid the heat. We also constructed rainwater-pipes and a rainwater storage systemso they could store water whenever it rains.
The children are now having a great time in the new boarding school, cleaning their home by themselves without having anyone tell them to.

To provide the children of Hlaingtharya, Myanmar’s Swe Chin Mae home with a safe shelter, Global Hope began a fundraising campaign that started since last June. Repair work for the girl’s dormitory isfinished, but the extension work on the boy’s dormitory is in slow progress because of insufficient funds.
Please be with these children who continue to dream of their future with hope regardless of their poor surroundings!
