If you drive a car through the Plains of Kyrgyzstan, it takes about 8 hours from Bishkek to Issyk-Kul, a lake the size of Jeju Island in South Korea. If you drive past the lake, you arrive at a small city named Karakol. Our Staff from Global Hope traveled for a total of 1 night and 2 days to reach this city. We held a small party with the Hope Line Sponsored Children there. The children at the Karakol Orphanage were like angels. And they were the ones teaching us how to smile.
First, as an icebreaker, we played some games which we had prepared in advance. Then we opened the presents and the letters prepared by some other Hope Line Sponsored Children living in the capital, Bishkek. The Hope Line children in Bishkek were sweet enough to share some of the things they had received themselves. The children in Karakol received them with much enthusiasm. It seemed that both the children from Bishkek and Karakol were becoming more mature.
The children had a wonderful time as they painted each other’s face while the Global Hope staffs were wearing animal costumes. After the activity, the hungry children gathered around prepared food. Later that night, we altogether watched a movie. All our faces painted beautifully, and all our hearts warm and cozy.
Global Hope Kyrgyzstan hosts a small party event in the Karakol Orphanage at the end of every year. No matter how far and no matter how difficult the journey, we make it there every year! Journey with us as we carry on this beautiful trip every year. Your interest and support is needed in order for us to continue and work in the lives of these wonderful children. Let’s all share hope!
