Peace Loving Children Home
1. Have you heard of the Peace Loving Children Home ?
Peace Loving Children Home (PLC) is an orphanage Mr. and Mrs. Ambika built in Kathmandu on 2002. The couple established the orphanage with the vision of dedicating their lives to protecting children who are living in poor or dangerous conditions.
2. Back then, how was Nepal and PLC’s situation ?
Maoists(Pro-Mao) were dissatisfied with the caste system and caused a civil war in 1998. As a result, even despite having established the PLC in 2002, there were still many orphans who needed help, but PLC was unable to help more children due to its limited resources.
3. Has the situation improved today ?
The civil war ended officially in 2006, but there are still lots of ongoing conflicts and terror attacks. Fortunately, there are not as many orphans from war, but there are still many orphans who have come for refuge for other reasons. Some had almost fallen victims of human trafficking as their parents tried to sell them in exchange for money and some had witnessed their siblings being abused by their parents who had become mentally traumatized from the war.
4. How can you help PLC ?
Mr. and Mrs. Ambika had been financially taking care of PLC by respectively working at a hotel and serving as a female leader of church. But Mrs. Ambika has been struggling to make ends meet after her husband passed away from cancer a few months after his tumors had been discovered. There are benevolent people who occasionally make donations and Global Hope has also provided financial assistance to PLC from February until August, but unfortunately, these donations are not sufficient enough to continue managing PLC in the long run.
So, PLC is in great need of regular financial assistance to do its best to raise the children in a warm, healthy and educational environment.
Your care and love can save the children’s lives, future and ultimately, the future of Nepal as these children grow up to exercise positive influence on the country.
So, please give your support to these children !
